Zarathustra – Master of Ascension Painted in oil on canvas, Zarathustra – Master of Ascension is structured around a dramatic vertical movement, as the central figure rises from the darkness of the earth toward an intense column of light descending through the architecture above. The deep emerald robe, monumental columns, fractured stone, mist, and radiant illumination create an atmosphere suspended between physical reality and spiritual vision, while the figure’s open arms express neither resistance nor conquest, but acceptance. The work is the artist’s personal tribute to Zarathustra, a teacher to whom he acknowledges a profound intellectual and spiritual debt. Rather than portraying him through power or earthly authority, the painting returns to him what lies at the heart of his teaching: light and truth. The surrounding architecture appears ancient and partially broken, suggesting the passage of civilisations and the vulnerability of everything constructed by human hands. Yet the light remains untouched, descending through the ruins and transforming the solitary figure into the spiritual centre of the composition.
